The South Greene Bands have a rich and historic tradition of excellence in the region. After the disbandment of the band program in the late 1970s, there was a push to bring county bands back to Greene County in the early 2000s. The band's first director back, Michael Douty, was tasked with building a middle school and high school band program from scratch. Under his instruction, the band experienced almost a decade of success. Following Mr. Douty's departure, the band went through changes and that leads us here today. Band in South Greene County is on the rise and we'd love your support to help bring us back to the top!
When the band returned in the early 2000s, so did band at Camp Creek, Debusk, and Nolichuckey Elementary Schools. Following the consolidation of elementary schools, Debusk transitioned into South Greene Middle School which feeds into the high school.
